The final piece in the dormitory jigsaw puzzle was Joline, completed in 1933. The last classically Collegiate Gothic dormitory built on the campus, Joline fulfilled the University's long-held desire to create a large, contiguous quadrangle connecting Blair and Campbell. But for three decades, the Halsted Observatory stood in the way.
