Pyne Hall, one of the largest undergraduate dormitories, enjoys the further distinction of having been in 1969 the first to house female candidates for bachelor degrees. It was designed by Day and Klauder and built in 1922 with funds given by the alumni. Entries are designated as gifts of the Classes of 1902, 1906, 1908, 1912, 1920, 1921, 1922, and 1923. It was named in memory of Moses Taylor Pyne 1877, a trustee of the University and one of its most generous benefactors.
