Members of the Class of 1938 formed a jazz band known as The Eight-Balls or The 8-Balls Jazz Band. The band name was derived from the class year and the logo adopted by the class. According to the Princeton Alumni Weekly, the band was a regular at Princeton Reunions for many years.

There are no known recordings made by the band as students. The Eight Balls recorded an LP titled “The Princeton 1938 - Class Jazz Band - The Eight Balls" while playing for their 25th Reunion June 1963. This is a 12" LP Privately Issued.
