Technical Information on this picture

About 140 high resolution photographs are combined into this single image, which is over 6 GB in full resolution. The planar photographs are stitched together using software to form a 360 by 180 degree image as if on the interior of a sphere, which is then projected into a two dimensional image.

Shot with a Nikon D800E, 50mm f/1.4 lens, mounted on a tripod at the intersection of the nave and trancept, using spherical panoramic hardware to insure systematic coverage and image overlap. Images processed using Lightroom, Photoshop, and stitching software.

The huge projection image is then segmented into about 14,000 smaller images, and then presented to the viewer's browser in small files that can be rapidly transmitted, with conversion back to a rectilinear geometry.
